Shanghai Welding and cutting Tools Factory, formerly known as Huaguang welding equipment, was founded in 1944. It is a small factory specialized in repairing welding and cutting tools set up by several individual owners.
       On the basis of repairing welding tools, these small factories gradually copied some other accessories and some welding torches, cutting torches and pressure reducers. Until 1949, there were more than a dozen such small factories.
       In 1956, it was a public-private joint venture, with Huaguang Welding Equipment Company as the main body, and eleven small factories were merged to form Huaguang Welding Equipment Factory. Huaguang Welding Equipment Factory mainly repairs and produces Japanese-style welding and cutting torches and pressure reducers, and has been included in the scope of national purchase and marketing control.
        In 1963, it was renamed Shanghai Welding and Cutting Tool Factory approved by the superior, and it was the first in the industry to register the I-brand trademark. Industry standards and national standards were formulated with the Institute and the Ministry of Machinery, and the first generation of welding and cutting tools designed and manufactured in China was born. Quality and output ranked first in the national industry, established the "leading leader" position.
        From 1964 to 1974, the factory expanded its production scale, enrolled a large number of young workers with culture and professional knowledge, and graduates from technical schools and technical secondary schools into the factory, and according to the needs of expanding production and plant and equipment transformation, so that the factory product quality improvement, sales surge, selling all over the country, the market share reached about 45%. It also became the first exporter of welding and cutting torches, and exported its foreign aid products to Vietnam, North Korea, Pakistan and other countries.
        In 1983 and 1988 twice won the production of welding and cutting tools of the highest quality award - the national Silver Award, but also by the national Ministry of Machinery rated as "excellent products" at home and abroad to enjoy a certain reputation.
        After 1996, the state-owned system of Shanghai welding and cutting tool factory can not keep up with the pace of market economy, efficiency decline, market competition is weak.
        In 1999, Shanghai Municipal Restructuring Office decided to reform the welding and cutting Tools Factory, and the burden of assets and personnel was changed from the original ownership by the whole people into a private joint-stock enterprise. After the restructuring, Shanghai Welding and cutting Tools Factory again showed strong vitality.
